It’s August. The most chilled month of the year. If you’re one of the remaining few still in London, it’s a chance to reset, recharge and take a deep centring breath.
If you feel like you overdid it on the after work al fresco rosé in June or swiped one too many smoked salmon canapés at the half a dozen weddings you went to in July, this is the month to take some time for yourself. To prepare before the rabble returns.

Barrecore at the Four Seasons
Take your morning workout sky high with Barrecore’s pop-up at the plush Four Seasons hotel in Mayfair. Every morning until the end of September, there will be daily barre classes held in the 10th spa with views over London’s Hyde Park and beyond. Loved by the lithe likes of Rita Ora and Pippa Middleton, Barrecore classes lengthen and strengthen to create toned bodies and better posture – perfect for the perma-deskbound.
Classgoers will be able to use the luxury Four Seasons changing rooms as well as receive discounts on spa treatments.

Frame x I Weigh dance classes
This month, until the end of September, London fitness studio Frame will run a new dance series in partnership with Jameela Jamil’s inclusive platform I Weigh. The dance classes are designed to empower and support mental health and will feature positive affirmations and a whole load of sass. Each of three weekly classes will be live streamed on I Weigh’s Instagram account. Get your leg warmers and Lizzo playlist at the ready.

Killing Kittens self defence workshop
Ever been walking home alone late at night and wondered what the hell you would do if someone attacked you? Wonder no more. Known for its hedonistic, female-focused sex parties, on August 16, Killing Kittens is hosting a self defence workshop.
Martial arts pro Rav Gill will be taking the ladies through self defence moves and combinations to help empower. Part workout, part hands-on lesson, the session will also include Qi Gong and breathing techniques. It all finishes off with a well-earned glass of fizz.

SoulCycle with your BFF
As part of its #askingforafriend campaign which celebrates the power of female friendship, Bumble BFF is running a free one-off SoulCycle class for its users and their best pals. Track Life LDN X Pullman running club
Pullman Hotels & Resorts and Track Life LDN teamed up earlier this year to host a weekly running club in Central London. This month they’ll hold a complimentary session in celebration of Wellness Month, forgoing the usual £10 fee.
The event, led by fitness experts Rory Knight and Omar Mansour, will involve high-octane agility drills to improve coordination, speed, power and reflexes before a 3km run through the capital. The session will finish with talks from triathlete Siôn Stansfield and wellness experts back at the hotel, where you’ll also be treated to complimentary snacks and drinks.

Free yoga at Flat Iron Square
To celebrate the launch of Balance Garden’s Wellness Tuesdays at Flat Iron Square near London Bridge, the team will kick off their new programme of yoga with two free classes. Try either Chakra Flow, designed to open up your energy centres, or Flow to Restore, a soulful vinyasa class perfect for aiding flexibility. For one weekend only, Stretch Therapy will be putting on an Into the Stretch workshop. Suitable for literally anyone, instructors Ashwin Tirodkar and Markus Ott will take students through techniques that will move ‘every muscle, every nerve, and every bit of fascia in the body.’
