Love Island’s Georgia Steel has revealed she was told to stay in a relationship with Sam Bird, despite falling out of love with him.
The “loyal” star, who is looking for love on this year’s Celebs Go dating, has confessed that she was pressured to stay with Sam after their stint in the ITV villa last summer.
When Georgia, 20, was quizzed on whether she was told it would be bad for her success if she split from Sam, 25, she told The Sun: “That is what happens when you come out. I definitely felt like that.
“It wasn’t working, we were different people, but I really thought, ‘Oh my God, people are only going to like me if we’re together’ because that’s what you’re renowned for.”
When asked if she was told to stay with Sam, she responded: “I was guided.”
Despite moving in together just weeks before their breakup, the pair split with Sam ultimately accusing Georgia of cheating on him with her ex boyfriend, which she denied.
Georgia has now added that she was never looking for love on the show in the first place and simply signed up because she was “bored”.
She said: “I went in there because I was a shot girl and I was bored at drama school. They said, ‘Georgia do you want to go on this show?’ and I went, ‘Go on, I’ll give it a go’.
Meanwhile Georgia has faced backlash on Celebs Go Dating, after viewers branded the reality TV star “rude”.
The Monday night episode of the show gave an insight into her first date with Georgia, first of all, turning up 40 minutes late.
Following this, she then caused a stir by asking her date Aaron if he took a boat from Wales to London.
She quizzed: “You’re from Wales, that’s an island from us, isn’t it? So how did you get across, on a boat?”
